Matt Donovan to lead Raytheon Intelligence & Space Customer Engagement and Solutions
ARLINGTON, Va., (Aug. 17, 2021) – Raytheon Intelligence & Space announced today that Matt Donovan is joining the Raytheon Technologies business as vice president of Customer Engagement and Solutions. Donovan will serve on the RI&S senior leadership team and report directly to Roy Azevedo, president, RI&S, effective August 23.
“Matt brings a wealth of experience and understanding from his distinguished civil and military service,” said Azevedo. “Meeting our customer commitments is job one, and we are proud to have Matt on the team, leading an area that operates on point where our commitment begins, listening to their toughest requirements and offering capable solutions to solve them.”
Donovan comes to Raytheon Intelligence & Space having most recently served as Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, and prior, as Acting Secretary of the Air Force. Other federal positions he held include Under Secretary of the Air Force, senior staff positions on the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, and various civilian roles for the U.S. Air Force.
Donovan retired from the Air Force as a colonel after 31 years of enlisted and officer active duty service, including as a command pilot with more than 2,900 flight hours in the F-15C Eagle and F-5E Tiger II, and commander of an F-15C squadron during the response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in technical management from Regis University, and Master of Arts degrees in management from Webster University, airpower arts and sciences from the U.S. Air Force School of Advanced Airpower Studies, and military arts and sciences from the U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies.
A highly decorated veteran of federal civil and military service, his honors and awards include the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, Air Force Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Aerial Achievement Medal, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
