Raytheon Intelligence & Space working with Air Force to improve emergency response times

Technology and collaboration shave minutes to help save lives

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., (November 10, 2020) – Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a Raytheon Technologies business (NYSE: RTX), is part of a team working to speed response times to emergency 911 calls in neighborhoods surrounding Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Working with SimpleSense, Raytheon BBN Technologies will transform 911 call data and distribute it through its Team Awareness Kit server to the relevant Air Force emergency response services, reducing response times by two to six minutes.  The TAK suite of technologies provides a moving-map situational awareness toolkit and can be integrated with both legacy systems and TAK-specific platforms.

“Civil first responders often rely on old technology and have limited response resources, which become critical when a major incident requires multiple agencies,” said Brad Tousley, president at Raytheon BBN Technologies. “Automatically distributing emergency data to Air Force teams in an intuitive interface will shave minutes off response times in situations where faster responses could save lives.”
