John “JD” Johnson is the acting vice president of Business Development for Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a business of Raytheon Technologies. In this role, he leads and coordinates business pursuit, capture and growth activities, working across RI&S and other Raytheon Technologies businesses to develop and implement a focused strategy for global growth.
Before his current role, Johnson led the U.S. Government Integrated Solutions team in RI&S Business Development. Prior to that, he was vice president for U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and Special Operating Forces programs in the U.S. Business Development organization for the former Raytheon Company.
Johnson retired as a lieutenant general following a 30-plus year career in the U.S. Army, having held numerous senior command and staff positions. His final assignment was as director of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Before that, he served as the Eighth U.S. Army Commander and Chief of Staff for U.S. Forces-Korea and worked closely with the Republic of Korea military and other government officials.
Johnson also served multiple tours in Europe and combat tours in Iraq in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
He holds a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, two master’s degrees from the Army Command and General Staff College, and a bachelor’s degree in history from the Virginia Military Institute.
