Dr. Ellen Ferraro is the Vice President of Mission Assurance at Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a business of Raytheon Technologies. She is responsible for ensuring engineering excellence for all RI&S programs, enabling the business to produce the most advanced defense and information systems in the world.
Previously, Ferraro was the senior director of Supplier Assurance at RI&S. She led the team responsible for engaging with internal and external suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle to proactively address supplier quality issues, reduce defects and receipt of non-conforming supplier material and improve supplier performance.
Ferraro has held positions of increasing responsibility, including deputy vice president of Engineering at BAE Systems, business area chief engineer for Integrated Communication Systems at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, director of Research and Technology for Raytheon Advanced Technologies and senior director leading the Systems Engineering organization at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.
Ferraro received her doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst under a NASA Graduate Student Research Fellowship.
Ferraro is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. She was a committee member of the IEEE 2019 and 2010 Phased Array Systems Symposiums and the IEEE 2019 and 2007 Radar Conference. She is a 2016 Fellow of the Society of Women Engineers and is the recipient of the SWE 2007 Emerging Leaders Award, the SWE 1999 Distinguished New Engineer Award and the Mass High Tech “Women to Watch in 2006” Award.
